Creating a villain	Poor No villain present	Fair Villain is present but is not based on an academic challenge	Good Villain is based on an academic challenge however student does not explain how this is a challenge	Excellent Villain is clearly based on an academic challenge. Student described how challenge is affecting them personally.
Use of dialogue	Poor No dialogue used to continue the action of the story.	Fair Dialogue is confusing	Good Dialogue does not help the reader connect to the storyline	Excellent Dialogue clearly continues the action and helps the reader to connect to the storyline.
Use of color	Poor No use of color	Fair Use of 1 to 2 colors	Good Use of 3 colors	Excellent Use of 4 or more colors to create a comic book feel.
