Classroom Particitpation and Behavior

This rubric will be used to evaluate how a student works and participates during class time. I have purposely weighted each criteria this way as I believe this rubric will be fairer to the lower level students that are trying to participate rather than those that are largely unresponsive in class - Fair = 3 and Poor = 1

	Excellent 10 pts	Good 8 pts	Fair 6 pts	Poor 4 pts
Preparation	Excellent Student was PREPARED for class and was practicing the sign language do now.	Good Student was MOSTLY prepared for class and tried to sign the do now.	Fair Student was MOSTLY NOT prepared for class and did not practice signing but looked at the do now.	Poor Student was UNPREPARED for class - did not practice signing and did not acknowledge the do now.
Productivity/On-task	Excellent - ON-TASK and worked PRODUCTIVELY	Good -MOSTLY on-task and worked productively	Fair -MOSTLY off-task and UNPRODUCTIVE	Poor -NOT on-task nor productive
Level of Engagement	Excellent -proactively contributed to class by signing with the teacher and practicing the dialogues or conversations all the time	Good -proactively contributed to class by signing with the teacher and practicing the dialogues or conversations most of the time	Fair -contributed to class by signing with the teacher and practicing the dialogues some of the time.	Poor -DID NOT contribute to the class and did not sign with the teacher.
Listening Skills	Excellent Student LISTENED, signed, and spoke when appropriate, all the time.	Good Student listened, signed and spoke when appropriate, most of the time.	Fair Student often DID NOT listen, sign or speak at appropriate times.	Poor Student DID NOT listen, sign or speak, appropriately.
Behavior	Excellent Student SHOWED responsibility and respect and did NOT display disruptive behavior during class.	Good Student MOSTLY showed responsibility and respect and RARELY displayed disruptive behavior during class.	Fair Student OCCASIONALLY showed responsibility and respect and OCCASIONALLY displayed disruptive behavior during class.	Poor Student DID NOT show responsibility and respect during class.
