Persuasive/Research Project Rubric
Small Student groups will work collaboratively to examine historically influential persuasive figure and to present their findings orally in class. Collaborative groups will investigate and discuss the following regarding their figure:

Student displays facts(At least 2 per section), mostly correct. Some use legitimate resources and very little are cited within research paper.

Research and Understanding
Level 4
Student did significant research and it is entirely in their own words. Student demonstrates a deep understanding of their project.
Level 3
Student did a lot of research and it is presented in their own words. Student shows a clear understanding of their project.
Level 2
Student did some research but most information is not in their words. Student shows little understanding of their project.
Level 1
Student did inadequate research. Student does not understand their own project.
Writing
Level 4
Presentation is structured very well and provides meaning to the research information included. Writer informs the reader in their own words using the appropriate persuasive writing structure, and includes many details to support understanding.

Presentation is structured properly using the appropriate persuasive writing structure, to provide meaning to the research information included and shows understanding of the topic in the writer's own words.
Level 2
Presentation has some information on topic but shows minimal understanding of topic in the writer's own words.

Presentation not structured properly and provides little information on topic.
