Virtual Poetry Evaluation 
This rubric is designed to allow students to offer their evaluation of on-line digital poems. They may be asked to use their evaluation and their understanding of the criteria to create their own digital poem or as a group to compile a rating list of a number of digital poems found on the internet, and come to some criteria-based generalizations about that elements make for a meaningful, engaging, and interactive digital poem.

Layout, visuals, and graphics are outstanding in working together to make a poem whose digital effects work together with its content and message make for a overall outstanding experience.

Overall idea is one that does not engage a viewer
Fair

Overall idea has some interest but is not carried through in other areas losing the interest and/or engagement of the viewer.
Good

Overall idea is one that has the viewer's interest. Viewer remains interested but may not maintain the same level of interest throughout.
Outstanding

Overall idea is one that both has a high degre of interest in the opening moments and maintains the same level of high interest throughout the entire presentation.
Speed of presentation

Poor

Moved too slowly or too quickly. I couldn't follow, get the hang of, or quickly became bored.
Fair

Some parts seemed to move at a pace that I didn't like but overall I could get through it.
Good

Moved at a pretty effective pace. Timing was appropriate with the other elements of the poem. Actually added to or at least didn't take anything away from the digital poem.
Outstanding

Moved at the perfect pace to make the digital poem work. Even though the message or content wasn't my cup of tea, I thought things went together very well to make a digital poem that kept me interested throughout.
