Alteration Rubric Uniform Tops Alteration-Jean/Skirt/Dress Hemming This rubric will be use to assess student as they learn how to properly alterate garments. The client will also have an opportunity to give the student feed back as they perform the alterations. general sewing assessment 100 % Student should grade each section and have instructor grade it before moving on to the next step. If this is not done, the student will receive a score of 0 for that section.
	Poor Can't tell if student followed directions or not. Lot's of room for improvement. Why did you hand this in in this condition. 70 pts	Fair Student followed directions, but should have sought help more, There are a lot of changes that need to be taken care of to make this stage ready. 80 pts	Good Student followed directions. With a little more effort this project would be stage ready. Items needing adjustments could have been attended to before handing the project in for grading. 90 pts	Excellent All directions are followed, Student worked to the very best of his/her ability. Fitting 10 % 1. Make sure the client has the proper shoes on prior to fitting.<BR> 2. Fit the garment on client by pinning the inseam and outseam of one leg.	Poor	Fair	Good	Excellent	Teacher Comments
Transfer of markings 30 % 1. Measure the inseam to the bottom of where the hem is pin to determine length of the pant. <BR> 2. Mark length and add seam allowance and mark. <BR> 3. This is done for both sides of the pant. <BR> 4. Make sure both are even.	Poor	Fair	Good	Excellent	Teacher Comments
