Social Studies Living & Working in Ontario Community Poster Social Studies working Community Diorama/Poster/Fact Book The Grade 3 students have been learning about types of working/living communities (i.e.: natural resources, jobs, population, physical geography, etc). They were asked to research their selected community and then answer various questions (i.e., population, location, occupations, land use, etc.) and present this information using a poster format. Content	level 1 Very few if any of the important information about the selected community were covered. There were many important aspects missing.	level 2 Some of the important information about the selected community were covered. Writing	level 1 Student needed 1:1 support to complete research/writing. All of the information was copied and read and he/she had much difficulty with the understanding of the information being presented.	level 2 Student needed much prompting and guidance to research the information. Much of the information was copied and read and he/she had some difficulty with the understanding of the information being presented.	level 3 Student needed some prompting and guidance to research the information. Some information was copied and read but was able to recall with leading questions and able to decipher what was necessary to be included in his/her poster.	level 4 Student was able to independently research his/her own community successfully. Research information was put in his/her own words. Writing is well organized and detailed.
Presentation	level 1 The student had difficulty presenting the information requiring constant prompting. He/she had difficulty with the understanding of the information.	level 2 The student was able to present his/her information with some prompting.
