The student will use main ideas and events from the story to summarize it. Sequence (Retelling) 1st, 2nd, Next, Then, Afterwards, Finally	Proficient The student retold the story in sequential order using a variety of temporal words.	Close to Proficiency Some of the events are in the correct order. It was a little difficult to understand the story.	Far to go The student did not put the events into a logical order. The story did not make sense.
