Satisfactory detail in sentences but has left out some key components of the writing task. Errors (5-6) begin to make the text difficult to comprehend for the reader.

Minimum standard of completion reached. Key components are omitted and show minimum understanding. Many sentences contain errors (7-8) and prohibit communication.

Readers can understand most of what the writer is trying to communicate. Mostly correct use of vocabulary and grammar with some errors (3-4).

Readers can understand less than half of what the writer is trying to communicate and must rely on interpretation. Inconsistent use of vocabulary and grammar with several errors (5-6).
Needs Improvement

Readers can understand a minimal amount of what the writer is trying to communicate. Understanding is heavily reliant upon reader interpretation and the sample has a plethora of errors (7-8).

The writer usually uses correct word order & script use with some errors (3-4).

The writer displays inconsistency with word order & script use with several errors (5-6).

The writer had demonstrated a minimum standard of accuracy. Many errors in word order & script use (7-8).
