Dance Presentation Rubric

This rubric is designed to assess the presentation of the group activity. The rubric should consider the performance of the group as a whole, as well as individual contributions. Create a group dance that will last at least a minute long and each member in the group must participate in the dance.

	Level 1 2 pts	Level 2 3 pts	Level 3 4 pts	Level 4 5 pts
Organization	Level 1 Presentation lacked organization. Poor movements between group members and individual parts. Presentation lacked order and very difficult to follow.	Level 2 Presentation was not clearly organized. Movements between members were jumpy or awkward.	Level 3 Presentation was fairly organized and easy to follow. Movements might have been slightly discontinuous but did not take away greatly from the overall presentation.	Level 4 Presentation was very organized and was very easy to follow. Movements between group members were well planned and executed cleanly.
Teamwork / Participation	Level 1 Group did not work well together. There were obvious miscommunications and lapses in the presentation.	Level 2 Group communicated relatively well with a few lapses in the presentation; some students dominated the presentation and others did not participate much.	Level 3 The group worked well with each other and communicated well. Some members participated slightly more than others.	Level 4 The group worked very well with each other and the presentation was shared equally among the group members.
Maturity / Professionalism	Level 1 Group members were immature and unprofessional during presentation.	Level 2 A few of the group members were professinal and mature during presentation.	Level 3 Most group members were professional and mature during presentation.	Level 4 All group members were professional and mature during presentation. They took their assignment seriously.
Dance Connections	Level 1 Group members did not include dance elements that were discussed in class such as time (tempo), dynamics or space (levels and body).	Level 2 Group members included a few dance elements that were discussed in class such as time (tempo),dynamics or space (levels and body).	Level 3 Group members included some dance elements that were discussed in class such as time (tempo),dynamics or space (levels and body).	Level 4 Group members included dance elements that were discussed in class such as time (tempo), dynamics or space (levels and body).
