ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE PROJECT: How Ecosystems Work BIOLOGY FINAL PROJECT: WHAT'S IN A HUMAN This project will be worth a total of 300 Points. The major areas of concern for your group should be : A. The PPT presentation of Chapter 5 B. Knowledge of Material and Content c. The ability to explain the major concepts of the chapter as well as accompanying diagrams/Illustrations Rubric Code: H848A2 By MGHAIRSTON Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Science Type: Presentation Grade Levels: 9-12

Project:300 points You are to email me your project no later than 6 pm on Monday. For all groups that fail to meet the deadline 25% will be deducted from your group’s final grade. If a member of your group is absent during the time the group presents, that individual will have to present in tutorial on Thursday. There will be no make-up assignments for this project.
	Excellent Student/Group meet and or exceeded all requirements describe in final project 4 pts	Good Student/Group meet all requirements of final project 3 pts	Fair Student/Group failed to meet at least one requirement for the project 2 pts	Poor Student/Group failed to meet two or more requirements for the project 1 pts	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project 0 pts
Presentation of Information:100 PTS Your group will be graded on it's ability to present the information of chapter 5.
Preparedness 25 points	Excellent Group is completely prepared and has obviously rehearsed. AND There is no reading of slides from any member of the group	Good Group seems pretty prepared but might have needed a couple more rehearsals OR There is little to know reading of slides by most members of the group	Fair The group is somewhat prepared, but it is clear that rehearsal was lacking. OR Slight reading of slides by more than one member of group	Poor Group does not seem at all prepared to present. OR Two or more members are heavily reliant on slides to present information.	Missing/InAdequate Group does not seem at all prepared AND Three or more members of group are totally reliant on slides OR Some members lack contribution to the presentation
Originality 25 points	Excellent Presentation shows considerable originality and inventiveness. The content and ideas are presented in a unique and interesting way	Good Presentation shows some originality and inventiveness. The content and ideas are presented in an interesting way	Fair Presentation shows an attempt at originality and inventiveness on 1-2 cards	Poor Presentation is a rehash of other people's ideas and/or graphics and shows very little attempt at original thought.	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
Content - Accuracy 25 points	Excellent All content throughout the presentation is accurate. There are no factual errors	Good Most of the content is accurate but there is one piece of information that might be inaccurate.	Fair The content is generally accurate, but one piece of information is clearly flawed or inaccurate	Poor Content is typically confusing or contains more than one factual error.	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
Cooperation 25 points	Excellent Group delegates tasks and shares responsibility effectively all of the time	Good Group delegates tasks and shares responsibility effectively most of the time.	Fair Group delegates tasks and shares responsibility effectively some of the time	Poor Group often is not effective in delegating tasks and/or sharing responsibility.	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
Diagrams and Illustrations: 100 PTS Include and Explain All Figures: 1,6,7,8,9,10,12,14,15,19 and Table 1 100 points total

Mastery of Material: 100 PTS 100 Points total How well able are you to show mastery of the material
Knowledge of Material 33 points	Excellent Presentation illustrates an accurate and thorough understanding of scientific concepts	Good Presentation illustrates an accurate understanding of most scientific concepts	Fair Presentation illustrates a limited understanding of scientific concepts	Poor Presentation illustrates inaccurate understanding of scientific concepts	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool 33 points	Excellent Project includes all material needed to gain a comfortable understanding of the topic. It is a highly effective study guide.	Good Project includes most material needed to gain a comfortable understanding of the material but is lacking one or two key elements. It is an adequate study guide.	Fair Project is missing more than two key elements. It would make an incomplete study guide.	Poor Project is lacking several key elements and has inaccuracies that make it a poor study guide.	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
QUESTION & ANSWER 33 points	Excellent All of Group was able to address questions in detail. Ability to answer is consistent across the group	Good two members of the group show weakness in ability to answer	Fair group relies heavily on one or two members to fill in the blanks...	Poor unanswered or answered incorrectly. Heavy dependence on one or more members of group ....to carry group through	Missing/InAdequate Student/Group failed to meet three or more requirements for the final project as it relates to this section.
