development with a topic sentence, specific and relevant details and examples from the tree reading devices. Accurately develops both bullet points: description of the three reading devices and development of an idea/focus of analysis.

Marginal

Has some development but lacks specific details; may be limited to a listing, repetitions,
or generalizations. May not answer both bullet points. May have no topic sentence.
Inadequate

Demonstrates little or no development; usually lacks details or examples or presents irrelevant information. May only address 1 or none of the bullet points. No topic sentence.
