PowerPoint Presentation Rubric

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when composing the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your destination have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Title Slide Title slide should include your name, destination and a photo of your destination.	Excellent Title Slide lists your name, your destination and a photo. AND Is formatted correctly.	Good Title Slide lists most of the required elements. AND Is formatted correctly.	Fair Title Slide lists some of the required elements. OR Is not formatted correctly.	Poor Title slide is missing most required elements. AND Is not formatted correctly.
Background Slides You must include at least 3 background slides- A slide containing some historical information about the destination; a slide noting the activities you'll do while there; a slide containing evidence of why you choose the specific destination	Excellent Background Slide lists three required slides or more.	Good Background Slide lists only two of the required elements.	Fair Background Slide lists only one of the required elements.	Poor Background slides do not contain relevant information.
Powerpoint/Graphics All slides should be well organized and easy to read.	Excellent Slides are attractive. Text is legible. No grammatical errors. Graphics and effects are used throughout to enhance presentation. Information is at the advanced level and consistently supports images.	Good Slides are attractive. Text is legible. No grammatical errors. More than half of the slides use graphics and effects to enhance presentation. Information adequately supports images.	Fair Slides are legible. Amount of text is too great for the amount of space provided. Some grammatical errors. Less than half the slides have graphics or effects. Information supports images at times.	Poor The slides are not legible. The amount of text is too great for the space provided. There are several grammatical errors. There is little use of graphics or effects. The information does not consistently support images.
Presentation The presentation should be well rehearsed and given without notes. It should be 3 to 5 minutes in length.	Excellent The presentation is well coordinated. All material is presented using language that is original. It does not appear written down. AND Presentation stay withing the 3 - 5 minute time requirement.	Good The presentation is well coordinated. Most material is presented in new form and not as it is written on the screen or page. OR Presentation is :01 seconds to :20 seconds under or over the 3 - 5 minute time requirement.	Fair The presenters make minimal eye contact with the audience. Everything is read directly from the screen or page. OR Presentation is :21 seconds to :40 seconds under or over the 3 - 5 minute time requirement.	Poor The presenters make no contact with the audience. Everything is read directly from the screen of page. OR Presentation is :41+ seconds under or over the 3 - 5 minute time requirement.
