The student only brought 1 visual and somewhat explained it. There is no second visual and it is unclear how the (1) visual relates to the topic.

Student used visuals (2) but did not explain their relevance to the speech. It is unclear how the pictures relate to the speech.

Student used the required number of visuals (2). The student explained the pictures and how they related to the speech. Visuals were big enough so all could see.
Pronunciation

Student's pronunciation was incomprehensible. There were many pronunciation errors. The speech was not understandable because of so many pronunciation errors.

Student's pronunciation made understanding difficult. There were 4+ pronunciation errors.

Large sections of the speech were difficult to comprehend due to the speech not being loud enough.

Sometimes it was difficult to hear the speech from the back of the room. There were entire parts of the speech that were not understood because they were said to softly or quietly.

Speech was loud at times but did not stay loud. There were times where the student lost confidence and their voice lowered.

Speech was loud and communicated confidence. Student used a clear "teacher voice". Speech could clearly be heard from the back of the room.
Eye Contact

Student looked at their notes the majority of the time. They only looked at the audience 2+ times. Communicated a great lack of confidence.

Student looked down at the floor, or down at their notes 5 times. They communicated a lack of confidence in their topic.

Student looked away from the audience or down at the floor 2+ times. Student communicates with their presence that they are not very sure about what they are talking about

Student looked directly at the audience throughout the presentation. Student communicated confidence.
Time Limit

Student kept talking for way to long and hand to be told to stop by the teacher.

Student over the time limit a lot (2-3 minutes).

Student went over the time limit a little bit. (30 -45 seconds)

Student completed speech within the time limit.
Question & Answer Section

Poor

Student was unable to complete the Q&A session. The student did not understand many of the questions asked. All answers were incomplete and not stated in full sentences.
Fair

Student answered one question fully but gave weak responses on other questions. Sometimes the student talked too long about one question or gave too many examples and stories that didn't relate.
Good

Student answered some questions fully but did not answer 1-2 questions. Some answers to questions did not relate to the question asked.
Excellent

Student answered questions from audience with detail and examples. Answers actually answer the question asked.
