Writing will be graded on capitalization, punctuation, use of main idea and supporting details, spelling of age appropriate high frequency words and illustrations. Main Idea & Details	Excellent=A Sentences have clearly defined subject and details and remains on topic	Good=B Sentencesa states subject but lacks details	Satisfactory=C The sentences do not contain a clear main idea or related details.	Not Meeting Standards=D/F Did little or no work. Wrote 1 sentence.
Capitalization & Punctuation	Excellent=A The sentencesare free of capitalization & punctuation errors.	Good=B The sentences have 1 or 2 capitalization & punctuation errors.	Satisfactory=C The sentences have 3 or more capitalization & punctuation errors.	Not Meeting Standards=D/F The sentence did not show proper puncation & capitalization.
