Write sentences as per directions of classroom teacher. Sentences will be assessed on writer's responsibility, sentence fluency, and conventions.

Excellent Student demonstrates a clear understanding between a sentence and fragment. Risks have been taken with all sentences.
Writer's Responsibility	Poor Student has not used capitalization and punctuation correctly most of the time having five or more errors, and/or there are five or more errors with high frequency words.	Satisfactory Student has used capitalization and punctuation correctly some of the time having three or four errors, and/or there are three or four errors with high frequency words.	Very Good Student has used capitalization and punctuation correctly most of the time having one or two errors, and there are one or two errors with high frequency words.	Excellent Student has used capitalization and punctuation correctly all the time, and there are no errors with high frequency words.
Conventions	Poor Student has no understanding of syntax. The spelling word is not used correctly (part of speech) most of the time and/or most homophones are not used correctly; there may be five or more errors.
