Reflection/ Ideas and content	EXCELLENT The response is very specific and related to themes or characters in the story. Many of the ideas and opinions are clearly supported by evidence from the text. Discussion makes a logical conclusion or an opinion is offered. All entries (sentence starters) are complete.	GOOD The responses are somewhat specific and related to the themes or characters in the story. Some of the ideas are clearly supported. Information is accurate.	FAIR The responses are not related to the themes or characters in the story. The ideas are not clearly supported by evidence from the text. Information provided is generally accurate but no insight is offered. Most entries (sentence starters)are complete.	POOR Few responses are provided or writing is completely off-topic. <BR> Several entries (sentence starters) are incomplete
Organization & Mechanics	EXCELLENT Writing is fluent and interesting to read. D Entry is to the point, in complete sentences, free of spelling errors and uses correct grammar. New ideas are presented in a new paragraph.	GOOD Writing is fluent and somewhat interesting. Spelling errors are minimal and grammar is mostly accurate. most new ideas are presented with a new paragraph.	FAIR Writing is not interesting. There are many spelling errors, sentence fragments and grammar errors. some new paragraphs are used.	POOR Writing is unclear and extremely difficult to follow. Response is riddled with spelling and grammar errors. Many sentences are incomplete. New ideas are not separated into paragraphs.
