Paper lacks an answer to the question or is inaccurate. Supporting details are inaccurate or irrelevant. Contains numerous errors. Exhibits inadequate understanding of the question.
Voice and Word Choice

Mastery

Writing lacks a personal imprint but is appropriate for topic and audience. Language errors are noticeable. Word choice seems forced.

Writing lacks original phrasing. Word choice is noticeably inaccurate. Use of slang terms and abbreviations.
Novice

Written in a way that it inhibits understanding of the answer. Incorrect usage of words interferes with communication.
Sentence Fluency

Exemplary

Punctuation is generally correct and a variety of sentence structures make the paper easy to read.
