Diorama Diorama Groups will build a fur trading post in BC that includes many, if not all of the components that go into designing a fort for traders. Diorama Construction	EMERGING Poorly constructed. Most items were not securely attached. Careful planning was definitely needed.	DEVELOPING Shows little attention to construction. Not all items securely attached & is a bit messy. Some noticeable flaws.	PROFICIENT Shows attention to construction. Almost all items neatly & securely attached. Minor noticeable flaws.	EXTENDING Shows considerable attention to construction. All items neatly trimmed & securely attached. No noticeable flaws.
Diorama Theme	EMERGING Diorama does not depict the actual layout of a Fur Trading Post.	DEVELOPING Cannot somewhat distinguish a Fur Trading Post. Landscape was not very recognizable.	PROFICIENT Can easily depict a Fur Trading Post. You can tell characters & landscape were from the actual blueprint of the model.	EXTENDING Depicts a scene from a Fur Trading Post. You can easily tell landscape were from the actual blueprint of the model.
Diorama Creativity	EMERGING The Fort lacks creativity and colour. More time should be spent on the planning stages.	DEVELOPING Some range of colors were used, but not always accurate. One or two objects were made or customized by the student, but were typical rather than creative.	PROFICIENT Many different colors were used. A few of the 3-D objects used in the diorama reflect student creativity in the creation and/or display.	EXTENDING Multiple & appropriate colors used. Several of the 3-D objects used in the diorama reflect exceptional student creativity in the creation and/or display.
Oral Presentation	EMERGING Explanations are weak. Difficulty understanding how to relate items to the scene. The group was unable to give much information about the Fort.	DEVELOPING Explanation of how items in the diorama are related to the scene was provided. Gives some information about the setting and the layout of the Fort.	PROFICIENT Explanation of how most items in the diorama are related to the scene is reasonable. Able to share much detail of the setting that served to be advantageous to all traders and habitants.	EXTENDING Thoroughly explains how items in the diorama are related to the scene. Communicates the setting, and how each building served an important part to the traders' way of life.
