Criteria
	Exceeds 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Developing 2 pts	Beginning 1 pts
Page Layout/Mechanics	Exceeds All parts are in place (Name, date, topic, class) and followed Cornell format.	Proficient All but one area out of place (Name, date, topic, class) followed Cornell format.	Developing Missing two parts (Name, date, topic, class). Did follow Cornell format.	Beginning Missing three or more parts (Name, date, topic, class). Did not follow Cornell format.
Legibility	Exceeds Notes are readable and neat	Proficient Readable but could be neater.	Developing Some part are readable, but some sections are hard to read.	Beginning Cannot read notes.
Notes/Body	Exceeds Notes are accurate and paraphrased. Main ideas captured. Details relate to main ideas. Spacing is consistent.	Proficient Notes are accurate. Paraphrasing used but not always. Spacing used properly.	Developing Some inaccuracies present. Some paraphrasing present. Spacing inconsistent.	Beginning Notes are not accurate. No paraphrasing. No spacing present.
Summary	Exceeds Summary reflects main ideas and is written clearly and consisely.	Proficient Most of the main idea is summarized. Ideas are clear.	Developing Summary is either too long or too short.	Beginning No summary present
Required Number of Articles	Exceeds Student completed the required number of notes.	Proficient Students completed the required number of notes. Notes lack depth.	Developing Student completed one less than the required number of notes.	Beginning Student completed 2 less than the required number of notes.
