Diorama: Book Report Diorama: Book Report The student will create a Diorama which includes a favorite scene in the book and an oral report describing the scene they chose (setting, important characters, how/why the scene was important to the plot), tell about the elements in their diorama and how they are related to the scene. Diorama Construction 6 pts	Excellent Shows considerable attention to construction. All items neatly trimmed & securely attached. No stray marks or smudges.	Satisfactory Shows little attention to construction. Not all items securely attached & is a bit messy. Some noticeable stray marks or smudges.	Poor Poorly constructed. Most items not securely attached. Smudges, stains, rips, uneven edges, and /or stray marks.
Diorama Theme 6 pts	Excellent Depicts a scene from the book clearly. You can tell characters & landscape were from the book.	Satisfactory Can not easily distinguish the scene as one from the book. Characters & landscape were not very recognizable.	Poor Diorama does not depict a scene from the book.
Diorama Creativity 6 pts	Excellent Multiple & appropriate colors used. Several of the 3-D objects used in the diorama reflect exceptional student creativity in the creation and/or display.	Satisfactory Some range of color used, but not always accurately. One or two objects were made or customized by the student, but were typical rather than creative.	Poor Almost no color used or was used inaccurately.

Gives some information about the setting, characters involved, OR how the scene is important to the plot.	Poor Explanations are weak. Difficulty understanding how to relate items to the scene. Student is unable to give much information about the scene.
