The story is well written and is fairly easy to understand, with an established beginning, conflict, and resolution.
Protagonist
Poor
The main character isn't very interesting, neither in personality or the personal journey they go through.
Fair
Some signs of an interesting character is there, but isn't well translated to the final product.
Good
The main character has flaws with their writing, but is still somewhat enjoyable to read.
Excellent
The main character is well written with an interesting personality and traits that make him/her entertaining to read about.
Antagonist
Poor
The antagonist has very little to do with the protagonist, isn't very relevant.
Fair
An interesting idea for a villain, but isn't translated well.
Good
An entertaining villain, but could tie more into the message of the story.
Excellent
The perfect foil to the protagonist, really challenges them and ties into the theme of the story.
Side Characters

Side characters are there for the sake of being there.

Characters had potential to be interesting, but nothing is done with them.

Each character is entertaining, but lacks relevance to the themes and story.

Each character has their own arc within the story and is complex and interesting to watch.
Arcs/Lesson

The characters/audience don't learn anything by the end.

Signs of a lesson are visible, but barely apparent.

An arc/lesson is established and able to be recognized, but is lacking in certain scenes where it could really be driven home.
