Food Web Project Food Web Project Students will choose a specific biome and create a food web that consists of 3 interconnecting food chains. Each link in the food chain should be labeled with the the animal/organism's name and type (producer, consumer, or decomposer). Arrows should be used to show the flow of energy through the food web. Food Chains	Exemplarry Three interconnecting food chains are represented. At least one decomposer is included.	Proficient At least two interconnecting food chains are represented. At least one decomposer is included.	Developing Less than two food chains are represented and/or the food chains do not interconnect to create a food web. A decomposer was not included in the project.	Beginning A complete food chain is not represented.
Labeling	Exemplarry Each link is properly labeled on sheet indicating the name and type of organism it is.	Proficient Each link is somewhat properly labeled indicating the organism's name and type. 1-3 items are missing labels.	Developing More than 3 organisms are missing name/type labels.	Beginning Food web items are not labeled.
Content - Accuracy	Exemplarry All food chain connections displayed are accurately.	Proficient Most food chain connections displayed are accurately. 1-3 items are inaccurate.	Developing More than 3 of the food chain connections displayed are accurately.	Beginning None of the food chain connections displayed are accurately.
Organization	Exemplarry Food chain is well-organized and easy to follow and shows understanding.	Proficient Food chain is somewhat well-organized and challenging to follow and shows some understanding.	Developing Food chain lacks organization and is very difficult to follow and lack of understanding, but is able to discuss need for changes.	Beginning Food chain has no organization except for 1 or 2 positions and shows little to no understanding even with teacher support.
