The speaker's voice was loud enough to hear. The speaker varied rate, pitch & volume to enhance the speech. Appropriate pausing was employed and there was no verbal clutter.

The speaker spoke loudly and clearly enough to be understood. The speaker varied rate, pitch OR volume to enhance the speech. Pauses were attempted. Some verbal clutter.

The speaker could be heard most of the time. The speaker attempted to use some variety in vocal quality, but not always successful. A lot of verbal clutter.

Audience had difficulty hearing and/or understanding much of the speech due to low volume. Little variety in rate, pitch or volume. Verbal clutter is distracting.

The speaker creates a warm, heartfelt mood. There were no times when the speech made me feel uncomfortable.

The speaker somewhat creates a warm, heartfelt mood. I was uncomfortable once or twice during the speech.

The speaker created a brief moment of warmth. I felt uncomfortable two or three times.

The speaker did not achieve warmth with the speech.I felt uncomfortable many times during the speech.
