Elements	Poor Student missed 3 or more of the elements of a plot diagram.	Fair Student missed 2 elements in their plot diagram.	Good Student missed 1 element in their plot diagram.	Great Student included all of the necessary elements of a plot diagram
Design	Poor The diagram is sloppy and there is no decoration, embellishment, or detail of any kind. It is obvious that little effort was taken.	Fair The diagram is either difficult to read AND lacks creativity.	Good The diagram is either difficult to read OR lacks creativity, but not both.	Great The diagram is easy to read, appealing, and creative. It is obvious that a lot of effort was put into the assignment.
Explanation	Poor Many elements lack explanation. The explanations are weak and often incorrect.	Fair Student does not explain each element. The explanations are weak. Very little effort was taken.	Good Student explains each element. The student did the bare minimum. No extra effort was taken.	Great Student fully explains each of the elements. Sentences are well written. A deep understanding is evident.
