Durability	Poor Model is broken, or falls apart when touched.	Fair Model has loose parts that will easily fall off.	Good Model is durable, but will fall apart or break if mishandled at all.	Excellent Model is very durable and will last for an extended time.
Materials	Poor Do not resemble parts of the earth system at all. Similar materials and colors used for all parts.	Fair Do not clearly resemble earth system. Similar materials and colors used for some parts.	Good Materials resemble earth system, but not obvious without labels.	Excellent All materials used resemble earth system. Variety of materials used. Even without labels they are obvious what parts they represent.

It illustrates the system and also the student's creativity.
