Asks a question	Poor Did not attempt to state the problem or question to investigate concerning matter.	Fair Problem or question stated is identifed, but not well thought out.	Good Problem or question stated for investigation of matter is well thought out.
Gather information Enter criteria description	Poor Did not attempt to gather information concerning the problem/question about matter.	Fair Information gathered concerning the problem/question about matter is not complete.	Good Information gathered concerning the problem/question about matter is complete and thorough.
Make a hypothesis Enter criteria description	Poor Did not attempt to make a hypothesis concerning the problem/question about matter.	Fair Hypothesis made concerning the problem/question about matter is not complete.	Good Hypothesis made concerning the problem/question about mater is complete.
Experiment	Poor Did not participate with the group to complete the experiment or needed much support from the teacher to contribute to the group. Did not follow directions.
