Description	Intermediate Writer fails to successfully explain the purpose the illustration adds to the story. Writer has a few grammatical or spelling errors.	Mastery Description explains adequately the reason for the illustration. Description may be limited grammatical or spelling errors.	Exemplary Description captures the event and thoroughly explains the value of the illustration.
Creativity	Intermediate Illustration was neat but needed additional information added for more appeal.	Mastery Illustration showed great effort at originality that add to the story.	Exemplary Illustration showed unique style and exceptional talent and skill.
