Sound PBL Presentation/Instrument Rubric 
Students will investigate how vibrations produce sound. Student will differentiate between various sounds in terms of (pitch) high or low and (volume) loud or soft. Task: 1. Students will research an instrument and create a Web 2.0 presentation to explain different aspects of sound. 2. Students will construct and present a homemade musical instrument. Student will present what materials were chosen, how constructed, quality of sound, and how sound is produced.

Unable to produce a basic sound. Unable to explain how was to be made nor the pitch level.
Presentation/Demonstration

Exceeds Standard

Student included all 4 components required in the presentation (Web 2.0 presentation, all members involved, uses appropriate voice, presentation organization). He or she did so without prompts from the teacher.
Meets Standard

Student included 2-3 components required in the presentation without prompting from the teacher.
Does Not Meet Standard

Student includes 1 (or no) component required in the presentation without prompting. There is little motivation seen.
Presentation/Grammar

Exceeds Standard

Presentation is written/spoken with few/no grammar errors either in writing or in spoken language.
Meets Standard

Presentation is written/spoken with several grammar errors either in writing or in spoken language.
Does Not Meet Standard

Presentation is written/spoken with multiple grammar errors either in writing or in spoken language. Presentation is hard to understand because of the grammatical errors.
