Participation	Unsatisfactory Student did not finish this project. Student made poor use of class time. Not much effort shown.	Needs Improvement Student did not stay on task. Student should have used more class time to do a better job. Used little effort to do well.	Satisfactory Student finished and Student used most of the time in class to work on the project. Made an effort to do well.	Excellent Student finished the drawing. Student used time wisely and made a sincere effort to do quality work.
Use of Space	Unsatisfactory The mandala has too much white space and clearly needs more work. Not centered on the page.	Needs Improvement 50% of the mandala is filled with geometric shapes. Neatness	Unsatisfactory Poor, work is sloppy, little effort made to keep the erasure marks from showing and the lines are smudged. Excellent Great care and drawing was done well with no erasure marks or smudges.
Color	Unsatisfactory Student did not use proper coloring technique, and it is not symmetrical.Coloring is sloppy.	Needs Improvement Students somewhat used correct color technique, but it is still not symmetrical. Coloring needs some work.	Satisfactory Student used correct color technique, but it is not quite symmetrical. Overall coloring is good.	Excellent Student used correct colored pencil technique and/or watercolor technique and the mandala is symmetrical. Excellent craftsmanship with coloring.
