Hispanic Heritage Month Project rubric

Students will research the life of a famous Hispanic/Latino American person. You will write a short biography about the person in the target language (Spanish) then put together a PowerPoint Presentation. Also, students will give an oral presentation during class. Make sure to use formal/appropriate vocabulary and apply the things we had been learning in class. Remember to BE creative and most importantly have fun!

PowerPoint Presentation	Poor The student has no PPT or minimal effort is shown.	Fair The PPT has less than 10 slides, less than 5 photos, less than 5 facts, or no facts in Spanish.	Good The PPT must be 15 or more slides. It should include the name of Hispanic/Latino person, at least 8 facts that you learned about your person of choice(Artist/Musician, actor), all the information must be in written in Spanish.
Photos	Poor No pictures are not included. (0-2)	Fair There are some pictures are included. (3-6)	Good There are several pictures of the Famous Person included in the PPT. (8 or more)
Overall Appearance	Poor The project is messy and unorganized.	Fair The project is mostly organized and neat. Some effort is shown.	Good The project is complete in an organized manner. I can see the effort and creativity put into the work.
Biography	Poor The information provided is minimal or not in student's own words. There are no sentences in Spanish.	Fair Some information is included about the person's life. There are less than 6 sentences in Spanish.	Good Information about the person's life AND HERITAGE is included. There are at least 8 sentences in Spanish which will include 1 sentence using the verb Estar, 1 using the verb Ser, 1 using an AR verb, and one using an ER or IR verb.
Grammar	Poor There are many errors in spelling and grammar.	Fair There are some errors in spelling and grammar.	Good The information is written in complete sentences. Your sentences are grammatically correct. (You will probably only be using the “él/ella/Usted” form of verbs to talk about this person).
Oral Presentation	Poor The student has not presented their project/has no project to present.	Fair The student has presented their project for in under 2-3 minutes.	Good The student has presented their project for 4-6 minutes.
