Arthropod Presentation Rubric 
The students will design their own arthropod to present during their oral presentation. The arthropod must be a modeled by combining different known arthropods. The student will draw a diagram of their arthropod and label it completely. The student will complete an Arthropod Report looking at the 7 common characteristics of living organisms, related to their Arthropod. The oral presentation must be aligned with the model.

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.
Poor

Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.
Style/Mechanics

The background information sheets have an element of creativity and style, and is not just a list of facts. It includes the 7 common characteristics: growth, respiration, excretion, nutrition, reproduction, movement, and sensitivity. The model is presented in a clear and concise manner with full understanding of the subject.

The background information sheets are clear and logical and contains facts as well as very few mistakes. It includes the 7 common characteristics: growth, respiration, excretion, nutrition, reproduction, movement, and sensitivity.Good clear presentation.

The background information sheets lack style and read more like a list of facts than an oral presentation. contains some of hte 7 common characteristics of living things, but not all. The sheets lack neatness and clarity.
Poor

The background information sheets lack a clear understanding of the subject matter and there are many errors. Does not include any of the 7 common characteristics of living things.
Presentation

Exceeds

The student spoke clearly and presented their information with complete understanding of the arthropod. It is evident that the student had prepared what they will say.
Good

The student spoke clearly and presented a good amount of the information about their arthropod as expected.
Fair

There are several confusing moments during the presentation and the information presented was not completed relayed during the presentation. The student had not practiced preparing their presentation.
Poor

The student was unprepared. No preparation was done for the presentation and the information that was presented lacked many elements of what was expected.
