Character Interviews 
You will be working in pairs to conduct an interview with a character from A Midsummer Night's Dream. One student will play the role of the interviewer and the other will play the role of the character. You may video tape the interview or conduct it live. The class will screen the interviews and critique each presentation using a rubric.

Fair

The questions in the presentation were simple, literal questions and did not vary in syntax or length.

The questions varied in type and were relevant to Chapters 1-9. Higher order inferential questions were used and answered correctly.
Exeptional

The questions varied in type and were relevant to Chapters 1-9. Higher order inferential questions were used and answered correctly. Several references were made to different invents throughout the play.
Response

The responses reflected the character's viewpoint and were relevant to the play.

The presentation showed little to no comprehension of the text. The oral language was difficult to follow.
Fair

Conversation is somewhat limited due to the students vocabulary or comprehension of the text. Lower level comprehension is present however, inferential comprehension is limited.
Good

Interview Questions and Answers show the students understand the literal meaning of the text and they were able to draw inferences from the reading. The presentation was fluent and easy to follow.
Exeptional

Interview Questions and Answers show the students understand the literal meaning of the text and they were able to draw inferences from the reading. The character being interviewed was believable and responded in character. The presentation was fluent and easy to follow.
