Presentation Rubric
	Poor 5 pts	Fair 10 pts	Good 15 pts	Excellent 20 pts
Subject Knowledge Type of power plant How is it used to create electricity? What technology, machinery, etc. is involved? Where is this source used? What happens to the electricity once it leaves the power plant? How does it leave the power plant? How does it enter your house? How does it power the appliance?	Poor Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.	Good Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Organization Information begins at the power plant and is explained step by step until the appliance is powered.	Poor Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.	Fair Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.	Excellent Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.
Graphics Diagrams and pictures on every slide (if a presentation) Models and posters must have graphics that support and explain the whole process	Poor Student uses superfluous graphics or no graphics	Fair Student occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation.	Good Student's graphics relate to text and presentation.	Excellent Student's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation.
Mechanics Spelling, punctuation, sentence structure NO paragraphs! Bullets only!	Poor Student's presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors.	Fair Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Good Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Excellent Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
