Ideas are organized logically and clearly, in a meaningful manner. Journal entry is in order. All are neatly organized with a date and topic.
Proficient

The journal entry is organized but the ideas are not fluid.
Striving

The journal entry is not in the required format. Ideas are random.
Sentence Structure

Exemplary

It is obvious that the student made a strong attempt to spell correctly and use proper sentence structure and grammar.
Proficient

Student checked for three and made a few grammatical errors.
Striving

Student had many grammatical errors and/or counted fragments as sentences.
