Whatever project you choose from the list, it should be prepared and presented with excellence. You will be graded according to this rubric.

	Poor 2 pts	Fair 3 pts	Good 4 pts	Excellent 5 pts
Completion 15 pts Your project should include all of the elements below and be ready on time.	Poor Projects are not completed.	Fair 1 project is complete and 1 or more projects are partially complete.	Good 3 projects are complete.	Excellent 4 or more projects completed
Neatness/attractiveness 12 pts Your project should have enough visual detail so that the observer understands the book and how you feel about it.	Poor Projects appear messy and thrown together.	Fair Projects appear somewhat messy and thrown together.	Good Projects are neat but lack detail.	Excellent Projects are exceptionally neat, attractive, creative. Lots of detail is evident.
Following directions/Creativity 12 pts The project should reflect the book & your feeling towards it: creativity & planning should be evident. You should also follow all the directions given on the instruction sheet.	Poor Project is incomplete and no indication that directions were followed.	Fair Directions were followed partially and/or projects lack creativity.	Good Directions for project were followed partially and are somewhat creative.	Excellent All directions for project were followed and the projects are extremely creative.
Mechanics/Conventions 12 pts Spelling Grammar Punctuation	Poor Many errors in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and /or grammar	Fair Some errors in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and /or grammar	Good A few errors in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and /or grammar	Excellent No errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and /or grammar. It is evident that all work has been checked.
Effort / Research 12 pts Your project should show that you understand the book enough that you can express to the observer why it is important to you.	Poor No effort - project is incomplete.	Fair Shows minimal effort.	Good Shows some effort.	Excellent Much effort put into project can be seen.
