This rubric is for grading student's written assignments and final paper.

Students prepare one short paper (<1500 words) from an aging related topic or disorder.

In a one page paper, students are to write their own philosophies for health. In their writings they are to include a definition of health, why health is important to them, and why it is important to educate others about health topics.

Research the approved topic. Submit 4-5 typed pages publishing the results of your research. Include a Reference page with at least 6 sources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be based on organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

This rubric is intented for evaluation of your final marketing plan. Your plan should cover in detail the steps of the text and utilize the work you have created and research conducted and compiled throughout this course on your selected organization. Please submit a 15-20 page typed and double spaced marketing strategy plan for your organization which will be graded per this rubric.

Writing assignments intended to have students examine their preconcieved ideas/opinons and back up their beliefs with extant research. I give them a question (i.e., Should hospice agencies be required to provide more than palliative care? For instance death and dying counseling to the family.) They must write a response and base it in some evidence published in a professional journal or textbook.

This course provides an overview of a branch of psychology which studies personalities and individual differences. Students will take an in depth look at the patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that make a person unique.

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OBSERVATION Visit an Infant/Toddler Center to observe a child’s social emotional development. The age of the child must be under 36 months old. Use guidelines provided to write down any interactions between the child and caregiver that might promote the social/emotional development of the child and comment on what you have observed.

Students prepare a 4-5 page paper about an ethical dilemma of their choice. The paper is worth a total of 100 points, 10% of the final course grade, and grading is based on the criteria listed below.

Presentations based on student's choice of topic, links to each of four units, academic articles, and visual media.
