Plant Life Cycle

Seed Dispersal Interpretation Piece
Students are to create a dance or mini play in groups that is 1-2 minutes long. The piece needs to have a noticeable beginning, middle, and end. Students will apply the creative process to the composition of short dance pieces, using the elements of dance to communicate different ways plants are dispersed.

Parts of an Animal
Students are selecting an animal, researching and creating a 8 1/2 X 11" poster about their animal. On a separate page, tell about where their animal lives, what their animal eats, what their animal looks like, and why they choose the animal. They are also to label the external body parts of the animal.

Rubric used to classify differences of the 5 classes of vertebrates (mammal, fish, reptile, amphibians and birds). Project should outline information from each class of vertebrates and includes pictures of each.

Student is to create an animal of choice within their assigned classification group (vertebrate or invertebrate) and research at least 7 facts about it, such as: body covering, what it eats, habitat, name. Two facts should be fun facts. Then they are to create a 3D model of the animal.

Classification of Animals Project
Students will research two specific animals for classification. 1 animal will be either a mammal, reptile, amphibian, bird, or fish. The other animal will be a mollusk, insect, arthropod, or worm. Students will list their animals' classifications (KPCOFGS) & 5 characteristics, and have at least one picture of each animal. Please be sure to include all information required including whether the animal is an invertebrate or a vertebrate.

Building a Seed
The grade 5 students have been studying seeds. The students are asked to build a replica of a seed. The seed should represent all areas discussed in class, offer the adaptations (e.g. for wet/dry areas) and show all parts of the seed. In addition students must answer the attached questions before creating their seed.
