Growing a plant Growing a plant The student will be given a seed to plant. As the plant grows the student will make observations, compare their plant growth to others in their group and write a one page report explaining their findings. The student will plant their seeds. Planting a Garden
	Poor 5 pts	Fair 10 pts	Good 15 pts	Excellent 25 pts
Participation	Poor Did not demonstrate effort for this project, and did not participate.	Fair Attempted a small portion of the project, but did not participate often enough.	Good Contributed a fair amount of effort to the project and participated in class and group discussion.	Excellent Enthusiasm was evident throughout the project. All activities were successful and student was a frequent participant.
One-Page Report	Poor Student did not complete this portion of the project, or turned in a report that was less than one page and demonstrated little knowledge of the plant activity. Contained five or more spelling or grammatical errors.	Fair Student's report was less than one page and included some knowledge of the plant growing process and how to care for them. Less than five grammatical or spelling errors.	Good Student's report was one page; demonstrated adequate knowledge of the plant process and how to care for them. Contained three or four grammatical or spelling errors.	Excellent Student's report was one page or more; listed all of the conditions in which their plant type thrives and the proper ways to take care of it. Contains no more than three grammatical errors.
Planting Process	Poor Student demonstrated little knowledge of planting seeds.	Fair Student demonstrated some knowledge of planting seeds.	Good Student demonstrated knowledge of planting seeds.	Excellent Student demonstrated knowledge of planting seeds and make insightful predictions.
Measurement	Poor Student's graphs were sloppy and inaccurate to their plant.	Fair Student's graphs were neat but inaccurate to their plant.	Good Student's graphs were neat and accurate.	Excellent Students graphs were extremely neat, measurements were accurate and all parers of the graphs were labeled.
