Independent Reading Books	Poor Student read 2 independent reading book during the marking period.	Fair Student read 3 to 4 independent reading books during the marking period.	Good Student read 5 to 6 independent reading books during the marking period.	Excellent Student read 7 or more independent reading books during the marking period.
Read varied genre	Poor Student read only one kind of genre.	Fair Student read from 2 different genres.	Good Student read from 3 different genres.	Excellent Student read from 4 or more different genres.
Thinkmarks	Poor Student turned in 0 Thinkmark.	Fair Student turned in 1 Thinkmarks.	Good Student turned in 2 Thinkmarks.	Excellent Student turned in 3 or more Thinkmarks.
Selecting books	Poor Books were not selected acccording to the guidelines. Student kept abandoning books. More books were abandoned than read.	Fair Books were selected according to the guidelines. 2 or more books were abandoned.	Good Books were selected according to the guidelines. 1 book was abandoned.	Excellent Books were selected according to the guidelines. No books were abandoned.
