Drama Participation Rubric
This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, accountability for actions and social interaction. At the end of each week student will honestly 'grade' themselves based on the points of each criteria. This will come into consideration for the actual score for Drama Participation.

Student is constantly engaged in the class activity and contributes relevant ideas. Student does not need reminders to stay on task.
Above Average
Student is often engaged in the activities. Student could participate more in class activity, but is never causing a distraction.
Average
Student is often engaged in the activity but needs a reminder to get back on task at times. Student sometimes forgets to remind others to be involved.
Below Average
Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student needs a reminder to get back on task, can be distracting to teacher/classmates and is in others physical space.
Poor
Student chooses actions that cause them to miss being involved in the class activity (possibly resulting in a refocus). Student is distracting to the class as a whole and constantly in others physical space.

Student usually completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student has done required classwork with above average effort.

Student sometimes completes activity and/or is ready with required materials for the class. Student shows a 'middle of the line' or average effort.
Below Average
Student rarely completes activity or holds herself/himself accountable for missing work or not following directions.
Poor
Student did not complete required classwork. Student contributed little or nothing at all to the overall activity and takes no accountability for their actions.

Listening Skills

Excellent
Student is always carefully listening to others when they are acting or discussing.
Above Average
Student almost always listens to others when they are speaking/acting
Average
Student tries to listen to others when they are speaking but needs to be reminded to do so at times. e.
Below Average
Student has a hard time listening to others and therefore the student needs to constantly be reminded to listen to others.
Poor
Student does not listen to others and consistently interrupts others when they are discussing/acting.

Excellent
Student consistently shows comprehension of assigned reading and "acts" with investment of energy, appropriate emotion and stays within character for the duration of the scene.
Above Average
Student typically shows comprehension of assigned reading and "acts" with investment of energy, appropriate emotion and stays within character for the duration of the scene.
Average
Student sometimes shows investment to character/emotional development. May remove self from character occasionally.
Below Average
Poor
Student may not be invested in acting, or show negative attitude. Student may make the experience more negative for others in lack of investment.
