Understands Material 30 pts How well the student displayed an understanding of the material they chose to cover for their project	Poor Student's work shows no or very little understanding of the topic they are writing about	Fair Student's work shows understanding on some of the topic, while either omitting or being incorrect about other information	Good Student shows a decent grasp of material, but may have omitted key details.	Excellent Student fully understands material.
Followed Directions 15 pts How well the student stuck to the instructions given at the start of the project, and if all required elements are present.	Poor Student failed to follow directions on basic level. Most or all required elements are missing. Work is incomplete.	Fair Student included some required items while omitting others. Basic work is complete, but more effort was needed to include all required elements.	Good Most requirements met, one or two missing items.	Excellent All requirements met. Work completed with all elements included.
Grammar/Syntax 5 pts How well the student formed his or her thoughts without using bad grammar or poor spelling.
