Organization	Poor Sequence of information is difficult to follow. Thesis is completely absent from the paper.	Fair Reader has difficulty following work because student jumps around. Thesis is barely established and is incomplete.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which reader can follow. Thesis is present and in the introduction, but needs some polishing or clarifying.	Excellent Information in logical, interesting sequence which reader can follow. A solid clear thesis is established at the end of the introduction.
Content Knowledge	Poor Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject. Complete misunderstanding of assignment, does not answer the question.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with content and is able to demonstrate basic concepts. Concepts from paper are vague, some examples are given but not expounded upon.	Good Student is at ease with content and gives some general examples from the book and movie. Some examples could use some more explanation.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required). Specific details given from the book and the movie. Student makes sure to validate their position.
Grammar and Spelling	Poor Work haseight hor more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors	Fair Presentation has six misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Good Presentation has no more than four misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Paper has some contractions or uses the word I.	Excellent Presentation can be read fluently without interuption from errors. It has no more than 3 misspellings or grammatical errors Word "I" is not included anywhere in the paper.
Format	Poor Student does not follow any of the MLA format for the paper, or the paper is not typed.	Fair Student has few of the MLA elements. The paper is typed but does not follow all of the format requirements.	Good Student makes an attempt at following the MLA format but makes errors in some areas.	Excellent MLA format is used accurately with no errors: 12 pt Times New Roman MLA Heading Double Spaced Last Name/PG number in header
