State Project State Project Directions: You will first choose any of the 50 states. You will have to take notes using information and facts you find online. You will create a tri-fold brochure on the state. You will need at least four separate factual paragraphs [5-8 sentences] , facts [at least 8], and photos. Example, state flag, state capital, state motto. Example, write a paragraph of how that state became what it is today. There are dozens of topics to write about involving each state. Spelling and Grammar	Poor Brochure is spelling and grammar errors. The presentation is extremely hard to understand.	Fair Many spelling and/or grammatical errors.	Good Some spelling or grammar errors, needed some proof-reading.	Excellent Only one or two mis-spellings or grammatical errors. Near perfection
Neatness and Appeal	Poor Looks very thrown together. Messy. No pictures.	Fair Not neat. Handwriting or font type is very messy. Not much color. Not enough photos.	Good Has some color, but is still a bit sloppy. Only two or three pictures.	Excellent Very colorful, and looks professional. Full of photos.
Paragraphs	Poor There is 0-1 paragraph(s) on the brochure.	Fair There are between two and four paragraphs that are either not on topic or are not at minimum five sentences.	Good Three full paragraphs that describe the topic to its fullest.	Excellent There are at least four paragraphs, on the topic, of appropriate length.
Facts	Poor The brochure simply contains no facts whatsoever.	Fair There are very few facts.	Good Many of these statements are not true. Also, not enough facts.	Excellent The brochure is full of factual information about the state.
