Op Art Illusion Drawing

Use of illusion 25 pts	Beginning Artwork does not create an optical illusion. This may be caused by rushing through artwork or lack of understanding during the lecture.	Developing Artwork somewhat creates an optical illusion. I can tell you did not spend a long time planning out your illusion.	Proficient Artwork successfully creates an optical illusion.	Advanced Excellent use of lines to create your optical illusion. It is clear you planned out how the lines would effect the overall look of your artwork. Lines are very carefully drawn and spaced out. Excellent job.
Use of colored pencils and shading 25 pts	Beginning Limited use of values and/or colors in work of art. You left a lot of the paper bare white. You hurried through the shading/coloring.	Developing Some use of values and/or colors in work of art. You left more than half of the paper bare white. You may have hurried a lot through the shading/coloring.	Proficient Good use of values and/or colors in work of art. Very little of the paper is bare white. Op Art is enhanced by shading giving the illusion of a 3-d appearance.	Advanced Evidence of a careful thought out value/color scheme for your work of art. Op Arte is enhanced by shading. 3-D in appearance.
Craftsmanship 25 pts	Beginning Very poor craftsmanship. Drawing is not neatly executed at all.	Developing Craftsmanship could have been better. Art work is carelessly put it together.	Proficient Good craftsmanship. Most of your project is neat and clean. You have minimal areas that are not adequate.	Advanced Excellent craftsmanship! Evidence is clear of a solid attempted to ensure your work is neat and clean. You have taken your time and therefore you work shows your hard work.
Daily Expectations/Work Ethic 25 pts	Beginning Student did not use time wisely. Often distracted and disengaged. Spent much of his/her studio art time involved in other things unrelated to art. Did not clean up area each period.	Developing Student stayed on task some of the time, allowed distractions. Did not always follow daily expectations. Cleaned up are most of the time-sometimes needed reminding.	Proficient Student was engaged most of the time. Followed daily expectations. Cleaned up area regularly.	Advanced Student was fully engaged in their art work. Always followed daily expectations. Cleaned up area regularly and assisted peers and/or teacher.
