Music classroom participation and behavoir Music classroom participation and behavoir This rubric will evaluate the participation of a student based on preparedness, behavior, attitude, accountability for actions and social interaction. Class Points/Attitude
	Above Average 20 pts	Average 15 pts	Below Average 10 pts	Poor 5 pts
Active Involvement	Above Average Student is always engaged in the activities.	Average Student is often engaged in the activity but seldomly needs a reminder to get back on task at times.	Below Average Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Can sometime discourage others to participate.	Poor Student chooses actions that cause them to miss being involved in the class activity. Lacks focus and doesn't pay attention.
Accountability	Above Average Student completes activity for the class.	Average Student sometimes completes activity.	Below Average Student rarely completes activity. Has missing work.	Poor Student does not complete required classwork.
Listening Skills	Above Average Student always listens to others when they are speaking.	Average Student tries to listen to others when they are speaking but needs to be reminded to do so at times.	Below Average Student has a hard time listening to others and therefore needs to constantly be reminded to listen to others.	Poor Student does not listen to others. Consistently interrupts others when they are talking.
Attitude	Above Average Student is positive about the activities being done in class.	Average Student is neutral about the activities.	Below Average Student is rarely engaged in the activity. Student can be fairly negative and needs a reminder to get back on task.	Poor Student has a negative attitude. Student makes the experience bad for others around him/her. Student blames others rather than taking responsibility.
Social Interaction	Above Average Body and/or verbal responses show student was listening.	Average Student sometimes pays attention to the group discussion.	Below Average Student has very little positive interation with others.	Poor Student frequently interrupts others and/or has no positive social skills.
