Everyone understands the reasons why design decisions were made.	Good 2-3 members of the group took on a clear role and completed their part, while others did not contribute. Some members understand why design decisions were made.	Poor 1 or 2 members took on clear roles. Parts were incomplete. Only 1 or 2 members understand why decisions were made.
Pre-Design Sketch The sketch you submitted to the teacher prior to building your boat.	Excellent Sketch is easy to understand and well labeled. It is clear that several design principles have been taken into account.	Good Sketch is slightly confusing, some labels are missing. One or two design principles have been taken into account.	Poor Sketch is hard to understand, missing many labels. No design principles are taken into account.
Post-Design Sketch The final sketch of your ship (what it ended up looking like).	Excellent Sketch looks exactly like the final ship design and is well labeled. It is clear that several design principles have been taken into account.	Good Sketch mostly resembles the final ship design, some labels are missing. One or two design principles have been taken into account.	Poor Sketch does not resemble the final ship design, missing many labels. No design principles are taken into account.
Ship Seaworthiness How much mass your ship could hold.	Excellent Ship could hold over 100 grams.	Good Ship held from 50 - 100 grams.	Poor Ship help up to 50 grams.
