DTP Career Opportunities 
Ref: CH. 48. Research and report on a specific career as it relates to Advertising or a specific career field you intend to pursue. You must describe the duties, tasks, education level and training required for your chosen career. You must present a PREZI presentation, a color brochure- both sides completed, and a one page paper for this assignment. Slides include: (a) Introduction, (b) Specific career chosen, (c) duties, tasks, education level, training required, and salary required for your chosen career, (d) You must design a chart for a career plan for yourself using the table shown in figure 48-18, be specific ie... what degree would you need, what college would you attend, and what area would you major in, (e) describe the employment trend...where are the jobs now, where will they be in 5 - 10 years from now, (f) describe a specific company or organiztion you might work for, and tell us about that organization, (g) a closing slide, and (h) a works cited page must be included.

Presentation must cover the parameters as listed above and have all eight slides, as well as, a color brochure, with highlights and sp0ecifics, front and back completed, and a one page typed double spaced written paper. All slides must be in sequence.

Poor

Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. More than two of the above slides are missing. Presentation does not include a paper, or other elements of the project is lacking.
(Brochure is missing).
Fair

Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around. Most of the slides are present and only one may be missing. Presentation does include a paper, but the paper is not in the correct format. Some elements of the project are lacking. Brochure is not in accordance with the guidelines for this rubric.
Good

Presentation of in
formation is logical, and in a sequence in which the audience can follow. All of the slides are present. Presentation does include a paper,
the paper meets the standard but is not exceptional. It is one page in length. The project meets the standards and covers all of the above details adequately.
Excellent

Presentation of information is logical, interesting and sequence can be easily followed by audience. All of the slides are present, extremely well done, includes a one page paper and is written exceptionally well. Brochure is outstanding, and very informative.
Subject Knowledge

Information is explained in depth through the presentation and the presenter does not read from the slides.

Poor

Presenter does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.
Fair

Presenter is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.
Good

Presenter is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.
Excellent

Presenter demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Graphics

Backgroud should not detract from presentation, and citation ( at the end of the presentation) should state references. You must also provide a one page paper
and a brochure as described above. You only need to print one, for a hand-out).

Poor

Presenter uses superfluous graphics or no graphics or a hand-out is not provided.
Fair

Presenter occasionally uses graphics that rarely support text and presentation, handout does adequately cover information about the career chosen.
Good

Presenter's graphics relate to text and presentation. Handout relates to career chosen and is very detailed.
Excellent

Presenter's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation. Handout is exceptional with color and explains the career in detail with a pictorial graphic.
Mechanics

Paper should be typed, double spaced and 12 point font either courier or new times roman.

Poor

Presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors, to inlude the one page paper. Paper is not in the correct format.
Fair

Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors, to include the one page paper. Paper is somewhat in the correct format.
Good

Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors, to include the one page paper. Paper is in the correct format but is not written exceptionally.
Excellent

Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors, to include the one page paper. Paper is written in the correct format and is done exceptionally well.
Eye Contact and Elocution
4 pts

Poor

Presenter reads all of report with no eye contact, mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.
Fair

Presenter occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report.
Presenter's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation
Good

Presenter maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes.
Presenter's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.
Excellent

Presenter maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes. Presenter uses a clear
voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
