	Excellent: 20 pts	Good: 15 pts	Fair: 10 pts	Poor: 5 pts
Owl Pellet Dissection	Excellent: The student was able to gather ALL animal bones from the pellet and arrange them accurately.	Good: The student was able to gather MOST animal bones from the pellet and arrange them accurately.	Fair: The student was able to gather SOME animal bones from the owl pellet but only arranged some of them correctly.	Poor: The student DID NOT locate many bones and DID NOT arrange them accurately.
Observation questions	Excellent: Student answers the question completely and ACCURATELY using content vocabulary.	Good: Student answers the question fairly well and PARTIAL used content vocabulary.	Fair: Student answers the question with SOME INACCURATE details.	Poor: Answer to question is INCOMPLETE and INACCURATE.
Animal identification	Excellent: The student correctly identified the animal that the owl ate and wrote a APPROPRIATE response to the questions in the lab.	Good: The student correctly identified the animal the owl ate and wrote a PARTIAL response to the questions in the lab.	Fair: The student identified the animal the owl ate but does NOT have a clear response to the questions in the lab..	Poor: The student was UNABLE to identify the animal the owl ate.
