Word Relationships Students will write sentences that use the scientific vocabulary correctly,
	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Writing Spelling and Grammar	Excellent Made less than five spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.	Good Made less than seven spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.	Fair Made up to ten spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.	Poor Made more than ten spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.
Writing Ideas Includes interesting and informative details while using the vocabulary words properly.	Excellent Writing had interesting details and used two or more scientific vocabulary words correctly in each sentence.	Good Writing had interesting details and used two or more scientific vocabulary words correctly in at least 75% of the sentences.	Fair Writing had interesting details and used at least one scientific vocabulary word correctly in each sentence.	Poor Writing had minimal details and did not use scientific vocabulary words.
Behavior Follows instructions and directions.	Excellent Paid close attention to instructions, and asked questions when needed. Followed all directions.	Good Listened to instructions and completed at least 75% of the directions.	Fair Listened to instructions and completed at least 50% of the directions.	Poor Did not listen to instructions or follow directions.
