Student has chosen a topic of current elementary or middle school relevance as it pertains to improving classroom management, developing a plan to combat a current problem in the classroom or implementing new protocols to enhance classroom learning.

Advanced

The student clearly identifies the chosen topic. Student provides reasoning for chosen topic and relevance to today's current classroom.Student gives brief overview of what will be included in presentation or paper. Introduction should be concise but complete and be no longer than 1 page in length with a minimum of 10-15 sentences.
Proficient

Student's topic is not clearly stated or reasoning and relevance is not complete.

Topic and reasoning is present but student fails to give overview of what will be presented in final paper or presentation.

Student's introduction is longer than 1 page or fails to meet the minimum sentence requirement
Developing

Project Presentation/ Essay

This component makes up the majority of the essay or google slides presentation. Here, the student will discuss their chosen topic, why it should be implemented or adopted by teachers and how it will benefit teachers, students and classrooms. Student should clearly describe how to implement their new idea or management system and address the problem from their introduction.

Fully developed ideas are present. Problem or topic is clearly stated. Student has included at least 12 specific steps for integrating their idea or classroom management idea into the classroom.

Presentation includes simple integration techniques for teachers, explores how topic can improve classrooms and the benefits of each technique. Teachers should want to and should easily be able to implement ideas pulled from presentation.

Students topic is discussed. Portions of the presentation are missing:

Less than 12 ideas to address problem are listed or discussed.

Ideas are listed but integration techniques are missing from 2 or more ideas.

Presentation or essay is missing more than half of the required 12 implementation ideas.
